What you will do

• Manage 6–10 engineers (and eventually managers), coaching growth, engineering quality, productivity, and accountability.
• Own analytics systems strategy and product direction, prioritizing highest-impact problems for life sciences and diagnostics customers.
• Develop and maintain analytics engineering tooling and pipelines for clinical trial data curation, rigorous scientific analyses, and biomarker feature computation.
• Evolve data infrastructure, including a centralized feature store, and integrate foundation models into core analytical pipelines.
• Scope and prioritize week-to-week work aligned with company strategic initiatives, coordinating across teams and domains.
• Drive project management for team initiatives: define scope, manage timelines, and set expectations internally and externally.

Requirements

• 6+ years of management experience leading mid- to large-sized analytics engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of analytics engineering and data tooling (e.g., dbt, SQLMesh) plus data modeling and pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Argo, Airflow).
• Experience with BI tooling (e.g., Superset, Looker, Tableau) to assess approaches and guide tradeoffs.
• Experience in medical device / clinical diagnostics / real-world data / pharma or biotech, and familiarity with regulated industry design controls.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in quality-sensitive environments.
• Ability to translate user and product needs into prioritization decisions and anticipate company-wide needs.
