Location: Must be based in Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, or North Carolina (exceptionally well-qualified candidates in other East Coast locations will also be considered)

Salary: $219,100 — $301,300 USD

What you will do

• Partner with the sales team to help customers solve business problems using Databricks.
• Provide technical leadership for customers evaluating and adopting the platform.
• Consult on big data architecture and execute proof of concepts (PoCs) for strategic projects.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and application demonstrations.
• Promote open source projects including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.
• Travel to meet with customers within the assigned territory.

Requirements

• 8+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, preferably with big-data technologies.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in at least one of: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience building solutions with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Data Engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and Data Warehousing (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
• Undergraduate degree or higher in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience working with global system integrators or consulting organizations.
• Experience with financial services technology or financial services data providers.
