Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

Location: 100% remote within the continental United States. Standard business hours are aligned to the Eastern Time Zone. Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.

Salary: $115,000–$165,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain enterprise data architectures, data hubs, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Develop and optimize batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Spark, Databricks, Kafka, and related technologies.
• Build data models, acquisition processes, integration workflows, and incremental loading strategies for the HC/HR data domain.
• Configure and manage Databricks clusters, Delta Lake solutions, Kafka components, and AWS-based data processing services.
• Support Palantir Foundry development, including ontologies, pipelines, applications, and data-driven interfaces.
• Implement data quality controls, testing, lifecycle policies, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Requirements

• U.S. residency in the continental United States and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in enterprise data engineering, data architecture, data modeling, data integration, and data quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Python, SQL, Spark or PySpark, ETL/ELT pipelines, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with Kafka, AWS services, Git-based version control, and complex technical troubleshooting; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Palantir Foundry, including ontologies, pipelines, applications, and data-driven user interfaces.
• Active CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification.
• Experience with Jenkins, Docker, CloudWatch, SSIS, Pentaho, AWS Data Migration Service, or the Jupiter data and analytics environment.
