Data Architecture Technical Principal (Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; listed location is Fort Worth, Texas.

Salary: $115,000–$213,000 annually, plus performance-based incentive eligibility.

hirify.global is building a General Motors auto insurance business that uses data science, telematics, machine learning, and analytics to create a simplified insurance product.

What you will do

• Define the target-state data architecture and technical direction for analytics, AI, reporting, and business applications.
• Plan, develop, improve, and maintain data warehouses, data marts, and enterprise data products.
• Standardize metrics and KPIs through semantic modeling, business definitions, reusable data products, and business ontologies.
• Establish analytics modeling standards that support self-service analytics and consistent reporting.
• Perform data analysis and modeling while ensuring data consistency and accessibility.
• Collaborate with business, technology, analytics, governance, privacy, and security stakeholders, and evaluate new data management technologies.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience in a related function.
• Proven experience delivering modern enterprise data architecture at scale, including information architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
• Expert SQL skills and experience with semantic layers, shared metrics, enterprise information models, or business ontologies.
• Experience with major cloud and modern data platforms; Azure and Databricks experience is preferred.
• Experience leading through mentorship and influencing projects or initiatives for 3–5 years.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog Semantics, dbt Semantic Layer, LookML, or AtScale.
• Experience with Databricks SQL Warehouses, Unity Catalog, MLflow, Feature Store, AI/BI, Python, PySpark, APIs, metadata automation, Git, CI/CD, or infrastructure as code.
• Strong business acumen in auto insurance, including claims, underwriting, pricing, customer lifecycle, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience in regulated or data-sensitive environments.
