Software Development Manager

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers across career levels from graduate to staff software engineer.
• Define career paths, development goals, and mentoring plans with team members.
• Coordinate with engineering groups across multiple time zones.
• Monitor performance and conduct regular performance appraisals.
• Manage capacity planning, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Identify challenges, remove obstacles, and clarify work in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience managing software development teams, including people management and mentorship.
• Experience leading multiple Agile teams in software engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills when working with senior leadership, product managers, software engineers, and project managers.
• Significant experience with software engineering practices, automation, and testing systems such as Jenkins.
• Development tools experience sufficient to guide high-level goal-setting discussions.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and technical debt reduction.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, JIRA, support ticket management frontends, or similar tools.
• Console or PC game development experience.
• Development and debugging tools experience on Windows or Linux.
• Experience with Rust or C++.
• Knowledge of the Clang for LLVM project or GNU GCC toolchains.
