Commercial Liability Line of Business Leader (Hybrid): Provide underwriting and business expertise for Commercial Liability lines, partnering with Claims, Actuarial, and regional leaders to drive profitable underwriting outcomes with an accent on loss trend monitoring, coverage form and ISO rate/rule/form evaluation, and portfolio/file reviews. Focus on leading line of business technical underwriting subject matter experts and overseeing state filings and IT project requirements to improve performance.

Salary: USD $180,000.00 - USD $231,000.00 /Yr.

What you will do

• Serve as line of business expert for Commercial Liability from both underwriting and business perspectives to support a profitable underwriting framework.
• Develop line of business underwriting and product initiatives and strategies with corporate underwriting leaders, Claims, Actuarial, and regional underwriting leaders.
• Lead and oversee a team of line of business technical underwriting subject matter experts and coverage form subject matter experts.
• Monitor loss trends, emerging issues, and risk profile; conduct portfolio reviews, underwriting file reviews, and large loss reviews to identify opportunities and action plans.
• Evaluate ISO rate, rule, and form changes; develop proprietary coverage solutions; submit IT project requests and requirements; and support state filings and objections.
• Partner with risk management and premium audit to support exceptional customer service to regional personnel and agents while promoting profitable production.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Commercial Lines Underwriting experience.
• Proven leadership capability and ability to lead project teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• 5+ years of field underwriting or specific line of business underwriting experience.
• Excellent customer service, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to operate in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of risk management and/or reinsurance experience.
• College degree preferred.
