Director/Senior Director, Professional Liability (Cyber, Misc. E&O): Lead and implement strategic development and execution for cyber and Misc. E&O professional liability underwriting with an accent on underwriting profitability, growth, retention, and territorial underwriting performance. Focus on delegating underwriting authority, ensuring quality underwriting work product, coaching underwriting teams, and driving compliance with underwriting policies and legal regulations.
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $162,800-$223,850 base range (Director) with up to 55% bonus potential

What you will do
- Lead underwriting strategy execution for cyber and Misc. E&O, owning underwriting, profitability, growth, and retention for new and renewal business.
- Manage territorial underwriting functions to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets.
- Delegate underwriting authority via letters of authority, monitor and revise authority as needed, and ensure quality underwriting work product aligned to strategy, standards, and process.
- Recruit, train, develop, and mentor underwriting talent; coach staff based on underwriting audit review results.
- Evaluate procedures and implement workflow improvements while ensuring transactions comply with legal regulations and underwriting policies/procedures.
- Coordinate with internal partners (e.g., PLL, Claims, Premium Audit) and communicate agency production, training, and quality issues to Marketing.
Requirements
- US Work Authorization required; does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- 10+ years of cyber/tech, E&O underwriting, or brokering experience required.
- 3+ years of direct management experience.
- Proven ability to make sound underwriting decisions and achieve business goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship management capability.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
