Location: Hybrid role based in Short Hills, New Jersey, United States, with a strong in-person field presence.

Salary: USD $184,000–$238,000 per year.

What you will do

• Set and advance underwriting strategy for the Manufacturing & Wholesale market segment, including appetite, specialty niches, guidelines, and standards.
• Generate portfolio, line, segment, class-of-business, market-size, and regional insights to drive profitable growth and diversification.
• Monitor economic, technological, social, political, and environmental factors and engage directly with customers to understand operations, exposures, and evolving needs.
• Identify expansion opportunities for underwriting appetite and product development, partnering with Product teams on technology solutions that improve underwriting efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop subject matter experts supporting regional underwriters and agents through referrals and consultations.
• Provide underwriting expertise for complex, unique, and high-exposure risks while partnering with actuarial, analytics, claims, legal, marketing, compliance, and regional teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of generalist Commercial Lines underwriting experience, including 5+ years in the Manufacturing & Wholesale market segment.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Proven leadership capability with strong problem-solving, presentation, networking, relationship-building, sales, and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing small projects and delivering excellent customer service.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
