Executive Underwriter, Central (Cyber Insurance)

Location: Remote anywhere in the Central US, with a strong preference for the Greater Chicago area. Regular travel is required for broker relationship management, client meetings, broker education, and market leadership activities.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, depending on geographic market and qualifications.

What you will do

• Underwrite and manage complex new and renewal cyber and Technology E&O accounts, including enterprise clients with approximately $1B+ in revenue.
• Manage strategic broker relationships and shape portfolio strategy for large and complex accounts.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, structures, and exceptions in line with risk appetite and carrier requirements.
• Serve as the senior underwriting representative for priority brokers, strategic clients, and flagship accounts.
• Partner with Security, Claims, Product, Actuarial, and CPU teams to resolve complex risk issues and support product and portfolio decisions.
• Mentor underwriters and represent Underwriting in cross-functional strategy discussions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of underwriting experience, including deep experience in cyber and Technology E&O.
• Experience underwriting large or enterprise accounts and managing a profitable book of business.
• Expertise in analyzing complex cyber and Technology E&O risks and their impact on pricing and portfolio outcomes.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect account decisions to portfolio, P&L, and market objectives.
• Significant experience mentoring underwriters and influencing underwriting standards and practices.
• Excellent executive presence, presentation skills, and ability to lead high-stakes broker and client conversations.
