Underwriter / Account Executive Commercial Accounts

Location: Hybrid role in Bellevue, Washington, United States, with other listed locations in Lake Oswego and Federal Way, Oregon/Washington

Annual base salary: $89,800–$148,300, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned commercial accounts book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Partner with agents, brokers, and internal business teams to develop sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with external agents and brokers in person to market and sell property, general liability, commercial auto, and workers' compensation products.
• Identify new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Execute agency, regional, and group sales plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least two years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial work, sales, product, or finance.
• Three to five years of relevant commercial underwriting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial lines products, regulatory requirements, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel to in-person meetings with agents and brokers; CPCU designation preferred.
