Senior Underwriter / Account Executive Officer - Inland Marine

Location: Hybrid, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers and travel required.

Salary: $112,000.00–$184,800.00 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention for an assigned inland marine book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Build relationships with internal partners, agents, and brokers to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Market and sell hirify.global products through in-person agent and broker meetings, including travel as required.
• Identify new business opportunities and independently develop and execute agency sales plans, partnering with the Managing Director on regional or group plans.
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience, including inland marine experience.
• Deep knowledge of inland marine products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify underwriting, marketing, and financial challenges and make timely decisions aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for difficult situations with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.
