Sr. Construction Underwriter, Account Executive Officer (Construction)

Location: Hybrid; Charlotte, North Carolina, or Franklin, Tennessee, United States. The role includes regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers and travel to those meetings.

Annual base salary: $109,300–$180,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention for an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Build relationships with internal partners and develop sales plans, including cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers in person to market and sell hirify.global products and retain accounts within the company’s risk appetite.
• Identify new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency and regional sales plans, partner with the Managing Director, and potentially train and mentor less experienced Account Executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial work, sales, product, or finance.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience, including experience with construction risk or oil and gas.
• Deep knowledge of construction risk or oil and gas products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and make timely decisions aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate effectively with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.
• Ability to travel to and attend in-person meetings with agents and brokers.
