Special Education Tutor

Location: Los Gatos, California, United States; Workplace: On-site, 1:1 in-home tutoring

Salary: $25–$35 per hour, based on specialization

What you will do

• Provide individualized general academic support to an 8th-grade student.
• Teach foundational math skills using clear, manageable steps.
• Support focus, attention, task completion, and learning through structured routines.
• Use visual aids, hands-on materials, repetition, and developmentally appropriate instruction.
• Adjust pacing and teaching methods to the student’s attention and comfort level.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and trusting learning environment.

Requirements

• Experience working with students with Autism and ADHD.
• Strong background in special education or behavioral support strategies.
• Experience providing structured, step-by-step math instruction.
• Comfort using visual supports, manipulatives, and repetition-based teaching.
• Patient, calm, and consistent approach with the ability to provide gentle redirection.
• Female tutor required for this student.
