Location: Troy, Michigan, United States. The role includes on-site engineering support at customer locations and requires current authorization to work full-time in the United States.

LG Magna e-Powertrain USA develops electric vehicle products including drive motors, power conversion devices, and integrated systems as part of the global LG Magna team.

What you will do

  • Translate customer requirements, issues, and technical risks for internal and headquarters engineering teams.
  • Maintain engineering specifications, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and support APQP, DFM/DFA, and IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Provide on-site customer engineering support, including software reflashing, sample delivery, and sample correction.
  • Lead warranty product root cause analysis, including circuit-board component swap tests, product teardown, and reassembly.
  • Prepare technical information for RFQs, RFPs, quoting, customer reviews, and new technology proposals.
  • Coordinate technical problem solving with global cross-functional teams and headquarters engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • At least five years of development engineering experience in the automotive or related industry.
  • Practical experience with power electronics, including converter and inverter technologies.
  • Experience analyzing MOSFETs, diodes, gate drives, operational amplifiers, digital circuits, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, MS Project, MS Office, and MS Teams.
  • Current authorization to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering with an emphasis on power electronics.
  • OEM or Tier 1 automotive experience.
  • Bilingual English and Korean communication skills.
