What you will do

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis of automotive electrical, electronic, and communication systems.
  • Analyze wiring harnesses, grounding and power distribution systems, sensors, actuators, ECUs, and vehicle electrical architectures.
  • Diagnose CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, and other vehicle network failures using oscilloscopes, scan tools, network analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
  • Investigate intermittent faults, signal integrity issues, parasitic draws, voltage drops, open circuits, shorts, and communication failures.
  • Develop diagnostic test plans, reproduce difficult vehicle concerns, conduct controlled experiments, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Support engineering, manufacturing, service, quality, warranty, and field investigations while mentoring engineers and technicians and documenting corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant hands-on experience troubleshooting automotive electrical and electronic systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of DC and AC circuits, circuit analysis, electrical signals, grounding, shielding, electromagnetic interference, and power distribution.
  • Ability to interpret complex automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, connector pinouts, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes and advanced electrical test equipment, plus diagnosing CAN and LIN networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with EV and HEV systems, embedded systems, ECU diagnostics, UDS, vehicle Ethernet, or automotive cybersecurity.
  • Experience with CANalyzer, CANoe, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Python, FMEA, 8D, or failure-analysis processes.
  • Background in OEM, Tier 1 supplier, manufacturing, validation, field service, or vehicle development environments.
