What you will do

• Lead field survey crews in locating monuments, setting control points, and preparing targets for aerial mapping.
• Direct survey activities for transportation projects including bridges, overpasses, and roadway structures.
• Verify construction item locations against design plans and interpret technical drawings for team members and contractors.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment including GPS/GNSS receivers and robotic total stations.
• Compile and maintain detailed field survey books, records, maps, and technical sketches.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee the establishment of traffic control to ensure safe working conditions.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of field surveying experience or Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) status.
• NSPS CST Level III certification required (or RLS, NICET Level III).
• Proven experience in heavy construction staking and layout for transportation structures.
• Proficiency with robotic/conventional total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and digital levels.
• Ability to accurately input survey data into electronic equipment and field books.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborative teamwork.
