Senior Mechanical Engineer (Hardware)

TL;DR

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Hardware): Designing and developing complex electromechanical systems for sleep fitness products with an accent on high-volume consumer electronics and sensor integration. Focus on architecting products from concept through production, optimizing DFM/DFA, and solving complex thermal and structural challenges.

Location: On-site in San Francisco (5 days/week)

What you will do

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems including plastic, metal, and soft goods components.
• Drive the full development lifecycle from brainstorming and CAD to prototyping and ramp into production in Asia.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analyses to ensure designs meet product goals.
• Partner with industrial design, marketing, and company leadership to shape product direction.

Requirements

• 3+ years of consumer product design experience with knowledge of injection molding and sheet metal forming.
• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products, including manufacturing support in Asia.
• High proficiency with 3D modeling tools such as Solidworks, NX, or Creo.
• Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
• BSME or equivalent degree.
• Must be based in San Francisco and work on-site 5 days a week.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.
