Project Finance Associate (AI Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Support the full project finance lifecycle from initial underwriting and lender diligence to closing and post-close compliance.
• Build and maintain complex project finance models from scratch and stress-test assumptions for credit committees.
• Structure capital solutions across the stack, including senior debt, construction financing, tax equity, and sponsor equity.
• Prepare investor-facing materials, including information memoranda, credit narratives, and financial presentations.
• Coordinate diligence requests and manage deal data rooms to maintain strong lender and investor relationships.
• Develop internal financial infrastructure, including model templates and underwriting standards.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in project finance, structured finance, infrastructure finance, or investment banking.
• Expert-level financial modeling skills with the ability to build models from a blank spreadsheet.
• Strong understanding of capital structure concepts across debt, equity, and tax equity.
• Must be based in or able to work from Houston, San Francisco, Long Beach, or NYC.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for translating financial concepts into narratives.

Nice to have

• Experience with ITC/PTC tax credit structures and Inflation Reduction Act transferability provisions.
• Background at infrastructure-focused investment banks (e.g., Macquarie, Guggenheim) or infrastructure funds (e.g., Brookfield, GIP).
• Exposure to equipment-level financing or asset-backed lending.
• MBA, CFA, or a graduate degree in a quantitative field.
• Prior experience working in a high-growth company environment.
