What you will do

• Direct daily execution of Application and Cloud Security functions, balancing delivery and technical quality.
• Architect and deploy defensive controls for AI and LLM-enabled features, including prompt handling and sensitive data protection.
• Raise resilience of the AWS footprint through improved identity boundaries, network segmentation, and detective guardrails.
• Assess software, infrastructure, and deployment patterns to identify and remediate material security weaknesses.
• Define secure engineering expectations and risk-based prioritization frameworks for product and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with leadership to shape secure implementation patterns for new platform capabilities and external integrations.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 8 to 12 years of experience in security engineering with depth in both application and cloud security.
• Strong AWS security expertise including IAM, networking, encryption, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Proven track record of leading complex technical work and coaching other engineers.
• Fluency in backend environments such as Ruby, Node.js, or Java to work effectively with developers.
• Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, finance, or education is required.
• Current knowledge of AI security guidance, including OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD workflow security automation.
• Background in defining authentication and authorization strategies (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
