Security Engineer (AI)

Compensation: $200K – $300K + Equity

What you will do

• Own security across the entire stack, including applications, services, infrastructure, and developer workflows.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks within application codebases and infrastructure.
• Lead threat modeling sessions, secure code reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Build tooling and automation to prevent security issues from reaching production.
• Harden authentication and access control across all internal and external surfaces.
• Investigate vulnerabilities, manage disclosure processes, and respond to security incidents.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada.
• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong focus on security engineering.
• Proven track record of leading security efforts across applications or infrastructure.
• Expertise in threat modeling, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), CI/CD systems, and containerized environments.
• Direct experience responding to real-world security incidents and driving remediation.

Nice to have

• Experience with security reviews of WebRTC, media pipelines, or real-time systems.
• Contributions to open-source security research or tooling.
• Hands-on experience with fuzzing, sandboxing, or static and dynamic analysis tools.
• Previous experience building with hirify.global.
