Location: Must be based in San Diego, CA (in-office role). Due to export control requirements, only U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees) can be considered.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000/yr + stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and refine HR policies, programs, and practices tailored for a high-growth startup environment.
• Evaluate and implement HR systems, compensation structures, and benefits programs.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership on organizational design and workforce planning.
• Coach managers on hiring, performance management, and team culture building.
• Own employee relations and sensitive personnel matters with sound judgment.
• Strengthen recruitment processes to attract top talent while improving candidate experience.

Requirements

• 10+ years in HR/People leadership, including experience as the senior-most HR leader at a 100+ employee company.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. export control laws.
• Proven track record of building or significantly evolving HR functions at high-growth startups.
• Experience partnering directly with founders or CEOs on company-wide organizational decisions.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and experience managing multi-state compliance.
• Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA.
