What you will do

• Lead the design and development of electrical harnesses and controls hardware from concept through production.
• Develop 3D routing models, 2D drawings, wiring diagrams, and pinout documentation using Siemens NX, Cameo, or similar tools.
• Select appropriate electrical components, including connectors, cables, and shielding, based on technical and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with Controls, Systems, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Analyze harness designs for manufacturability, reliability, weight, and overall system integration.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers supporting wire harness activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related technical discipline).
• 5+ years of related experience (3+ years with a Master's or PhD equivalent).
• Proven experience designing electrical harnesses or interconnect systems for aerospace, propulsion, or defense.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering software used for 3D routing and modeling.
• Strong understanding of electrical components and harness design principles.
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience using Siemens NX or Cameo.
• Knowledge of MIL-DTL-38999, D-sub, and Molex aerospace-grade connector systems.
• Experience applying EMI/EMC, grounding, and shielding requirements (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461).
• Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience managing harness designs through the full product lifecycle.
