Engineering Manager (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Onsite in Chandler, Arizona, United States. U.S. Person status is required due to U.S. Government contractual and export-control requirements.

Salary: $101,500–$188,500 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the Sustaining Design Engineering and Engineering Services teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional technical execution across production support, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and final shipment.
• Manage configuration baselines, failure investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Apply performance metrics, business-system tools, and standard work to align engineering priorities with business goals.
• Manage department budgets, assign project tasks, and ensure delivery within allocated timelines.
• Develop and mentor engineers while maintaining strong relationships with customers, management, and other departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline; a master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 3 years of technical team leadership experience and 7+ years applying mechanical or ordnance design engineering principles.
• Experience with engineering drawings, drafting practices, GD&T, DFMEA, DMF, DOE, RCCA, and FRACAS.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, or another continuous improvement system.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/PLM systems, reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
• Must hold U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status, or qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable export-control rules.

Nice to have

• Aerospace or defense product manufacturing experience in a low-volume, high-mix environment.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
