DevSecOps Project Lead (AWS GovCloud): Building and operating a secure delivery platform for an AI-enabled government program with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and IL-5 security controls. Focus on establishing a hardened platform in AWS GovCloud, automating authorization evidence (ATO/cATO), and leading a small team of cloud engineers.

Location: Remote (USA). US Citizenship and Active US Secret clearance required. Occasional travel (up to 25%) required.

Salary: $175,000 - $215,000

What you will do

• Own the initial platform deployment into the government IL-5 environment and build portable IaC templates for rapid porting.
• Design and operate the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline, including security scans (SAST/DAST), SBOM generation, and gated promotions.
• Architect account structures, network paths, and container strategies within AWS GovCloud.
• Implement continuous security controls and produce automated evidence for ATO/cATO authorization.
• Direct a small group of platform, cloud, and cyber engineers, setting standards for branching, release hygiene, and secrets handling.
• Establish and report DORA metrics to ensure delivery performance and zero-downtime deployments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of DevOps and DevSecOps engineering experience with production pipelines at scale.
• 3+ years working in DoW or federal cloud environments (IL-4/IL-5), preferably AWS GovCloud.
• Active US Secret clearance and US Citizenship.
• Hands-on expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform/CloudFormation, and CI/CD tooling.
• Direct experience supporting ATO/cATO authorization processes and producing assessor-accepted artifacts.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to customer sites and HQ.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI Clearance.
• Experience with Iron Bank container certification, STIG, SCAP, ACAS, and FIPS.
• Knowledge of AWS Bedrock or managed inference services in government boundaries.
• Familiarity with secure-software platforms like Second Front (Game Warden) or Stormbreaker.
