Location: Hybrid roles in Minneapolis, MN (1 day/week), Birmingham, AL (2 days/week), or San Francisco, CA (1 day/week)

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy high-performance multi-region services using Go, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka.
• Take deep ownership of the production environment, driving architectural decisions and non-functional requirements.
• Analyze metrics and optimize system performance to ship products that empower shoppers nationwide.
• Lead complex technical challenges autonomously while mentoring peers and shaping engineering culture.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary squads to design and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation every 3-4 weeks to ensure production stability.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software development experience in a cross-functional Agile environment.
• Proven experience building multi-region distributed architectures or microservices using Go and Kafka.
• Track record of designing distributed data models and optimizing queries with Postgres, Snowflake, and Redis.
• Hands-on experience building high-volume RESTful APIs using functional and object-oriented paradigms.
• Must be based in or be able to work from the office in Minneapolis, Birmingham, or San Francisco.
• Strong knowledge of CS principles and design patterns (e.g., Gang of Four).
