What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate scalable, resilient distributed services running on Kubernetes or ECS.
• Expand Tinder’s service platform in collaboration with cross-functional engineering and product teams.
• Influence the engineering roadmap and product development decisions.
• Recruit, mentor, encourage, and develop other team members.

Requirements

• 2+ years of industry experience and a BS/MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• Strong professional experience with a backend language such as Java, Node, Go, or C++.
• Excellent knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and coding.
• Experience designing and building distributed backend systems that handle high traffic volumes.
• Ability to work through ambiguous business requirements, prioritize effectively, manage time, and execute.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or Cassandra, plus Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or Spark.
• Experience with TypeScript, Docker, Agile development, and CI/CD.
