What you will do
- Perform skilled mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission overhauls.
- Conduct electrical and electronic diagnostics and fault finding.
- Inspect and maintain vehicles to meet Provincial Vehicle Inspection Program requirements.
- Service and maintain specialized equipment, including EV, Hybrid, and CNG vehicles.
- Fabricate and modify vehicle parts using sheet metal and welding equipment.
- Train and monitor the work of apprentices.
Requirements
- Trade certification as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanic.
- Technical certification as an authorized Commercial/Private Vehicle Inspector.
- Valid BC Class 3 Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
- Minimum five years of related experience.
- Clean driver’s abstract and insurance claim history.
- Computerized engine management training.
