Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, Independent Contractor (Telemedicine)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates residing in Alabama, Indiana, Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, or Tennessee cannot be considered.

What you will do

• Conduct age-appropriate patient histories and virtual examinations.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of conditions across newborn, pediatric, adult, acute, chronic, and mental health populations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop accurate, timely treatment plans.
• Request consultations or referrals and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
• Counsel patients and families while maintaining evidence-based clinical knowledge.
• Provide scheduling flexibility, including evening and weekend availability.

Requirements

• Graduate degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program and an accredited nursing school.
• Active Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure in accordance with applicable state requirements; active multi-state licensure is preferred.
• Current national Family Nurse Practitioner certification through AANP or ANCC.
• At least 3 years of post-training experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings.
• Experience treating patients from newborns through adults, with strong clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, and patient engagement skills.
• Active Medicare status and good standing with Medicare/Medicaid and federal health programs; proficiency with technology and electronic medical records.

Nice to have

• Prior telemedicine or video-based virtual care experience.
• Experience with Athena EMR.

• Reports to the Urgent Care Manager, with physician supervision where required by state collaborative-agreement rules.
• At least 25% of prescheduled time is recommended for weekends and at least 25% after 5 p.m. in the local time zone.
• At least 8 scheduled hours per quarter are required to remain active as an hirify.global direct independent contractor.
• Schedules are set 30 days in advance, finalized 7 days before the start of the month, and require 90% schedule adherence.
