Senior Director of People (Robotics)

Senior Director of People (Robotics/AI): Leading the entire People function for a physical AI and robotics company with an accent on scaling organizational design, compliance, and culture. Focus on building foundational HR policies, managing global compliance via EOR, and executing talent acquisition strategies for a growing distributed team.

Location: Hybrid (NYC). Must be based in the NYC/Metro Area with 3-4 days/week onsite presence

Salary: $235,000 - $250,000 annually + performance bonus + equity

What you will do

• Own and evolve the overall People strategy, translating company goals into clear priorities across the employee lifecycle.
• Lead day-to-day HR functions including payroll, benefits, and performance management using Rippling and Ashby.
• Manage US visa processes, immigration support, and global compliance through EOR partnerships in Japan, Mexico, and UK.
• Own recruiting strategy and headcount planning to attract top talent in partnership with hiring managers.
• Develop compensation philosophy, salary bands, and leveling frameworks to ensure equity and compliance.
• Build manager capability through coaching, training, and performance management programs.

Requirements

• 10+ years in HR leadership with proven experience at the Senior Director, Head of People, or VP level.
• Track record of building and scaling People functions in fast-paced tech or wellness startups.
• Deep understanding of US labor laws, visa/immigration processes (H-1B, TN), and international HR practices (EOR models).
• Technical proficiency with Rippling, Ashby, Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion.
• Hybrid commitment: Primary onsite presence at the NYC office (3-4 days/week).
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
