What you will do

• Oversee daily operations of the VFA plant and manage a team of four to six direct reports.
• Support the commissioning and startup of a new plant, including hiring and training process operators.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, identify root causes, and propose technical solutions.
• Ensure plant productivity and quality targets are met while maintaining high safety standards.
• Manage process and maintenance work orders within SAP.
• Actively participate in EHS programs, site audits, and safety committees.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Suffolk, Virginia.
• BS Degree in Chemical Engineering (3+ years experience) OR High School Diploma (8+ years experience) in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous chemical handling.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds, operate a forklift, and perform continuous climbing.
• Must be able to stay clean-shaven for respirator usage.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Supervisory and/or Incident Command experience.
• Deep understanding of reactors, distillation columns, and automation equipment.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Distributed Control Systems/PLCs (DeltaV), and Data Historians.
