Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Salary: $180K – $220K + Equity & Bonus

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and hire backend engineers for the team building the application process.
• Define and defend technical direction, architecture, and overall quality standards.
• Remain hands-on through design reviews, code reviews, and solving the most complex technical problems.
• Collaborate with product and design to transition ambiguous problems into shipped features.
• Recruit exceptional engineering talent and elevate general engineering practices as the company scales.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as an Individual Contributor (Staff level) with deep systems thinking and architectural expertise.
• 1+ year of formal experience managing an engineering team.
• Fluency in a statically typed language (Go is ideal, but Java or similar is welcome).
• Must be based in the United States.
• Strong passion for financial inclusion and mobility.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go and fintech domains (payments, card networks, processing, lending, or banking).
• Proficiency with Postgres, Redis, and AWS.
• Early-stage startup experience.
