Engineering Manager (API/Data Platform)

Location: San Francisco, United States. Hybrid work with 3 days per week in the San Francisco office.

What you will do

• Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, identifying staffing and capability gaps.
• Own team outcomes across execution speed, technical excellence, reliability, and delivery quality.
• Partner with Product to define roadmaps and priorities that address customer needs.
• Improve productivity, agile processes, engineering standards, and operational efficiency.
• Mentor engineers, provide feedback, and support career development.
• Establish engineering best practices, policies, and an inclusive team culture.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant software development experience, including 2+ years of people management.
• Experience delivering projects across multiple teams and influencing technical and executive stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, system design, distributed systems, and testing.
• Deep experience with APIs and product-oriented platform development.
• Experience with NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar technologies, plus a cloud provider.
• Familiarity with API authentication and authorization methods, particularly OAuth.
