Health Safety & Enviroment Manager (HSE/underwater robotics): Developing and maintaining HSE management systems for an underwater robotics manufacturing business with an accent on regulatory compliance, machinery safety, environmental performance, and operational risk control. Focus on leading audits and investigations, integrating HSE into new product introduction, managing high-voltage and manufacturing risks, and driving sustainability initiatives.
Location: Fareham, United Kingdom; onsite role supporting the Seaeye underwater robotics business unit. Candidates must be able to undergo workforce screening, security vetting, reference checks, and verification of working rights.

What you will do
- Develop, maintain, and improve HSE management systems, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Lead HSE strategy delivery, performance monitoring, KPI reporting, leadership reviews, and improvement initiatives.
- Provide HSE guidance, coordinate training and inductions, and promote a positive safety culture.
- Lead audits, inspections, compliance verification, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Control operational risks related to high-voltage activities, machinery safety, manufacturing processes, ergonomics, field work, contractors, and suppliers.
- Manage environmental performance, sustainability initiatives, REACH, RoHS, hazardous substances, and product stewardship requirements.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with internal audits and external accreditation bodies.
- Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- HSE qualification, such as NEBOSH.
- Environmental qualification, such as the IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
- Strong motivation, team-building, and cultural transformation skills.
