What you will do

• Conduct safeguarding risk assessments and review operational tools to prevent abuse through direct community engagement.
• Manage and document safeguarding concerns using survivor-centered practice and established escalation pathways.
• Develop and maintain a network of safeguarding focal points across the Mothers and Babies program.
• Map and engage trusted local service providers to strengthen signposting and referral pathways.
• Provide safeguarding expertise during the planning, design, and delivery of program activities.
• Deliver ongoing safeguarding training, onboarding, and sensitisation sessions for staff and partners.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in safeguarding, protection, community development, social work, or maternal health.
• Professional fluency in English and Swahili is required.
• Fluency in Dholuo is essential.
• Strong judgment and ability to take appropriate action in sensitive or complex safeguarding situations.
• Commitment to survivor-centered practice, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making.
• Must be able to conduct regular travel for field visits within Migori County, Kenya.
