What you will do

• Develop and implement safety performance indicators and thresholds to manage risk across on-road and simulation data.
• Apply statistical methods to evaluate safety performance and quantify uncertainty in real-world operational contexts.
• Build automated, production-ready analysis workflows for continuous safety monitoring and incident response.
• Evaluate data quality, bias, and limitations to ensure findings are statistically defensible.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and validation teams to integrate data-driven safety workflows.
• Maintain documentation of analytical methods and outputs to support regulatory readiness and traceability.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Math, or a related field with relevant industry experience (B.S. 5+, M.S. 3+, or PhD 1+ years).
• Proven experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or physics-based applications.
• Strong background in applied statistics, safety analysis, or risk estimation.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience working with large-scale time-series data and complex, real-world datasets.

Nice to have

• Background in rare-event modeling, reliability analysis, or uncertainty quantification.
• Experience supporting executive or regulatory decision-making.
• Experience in simulation evaluation or safety-critical system verification.
