What you will do
- Serve as the NSI (New Source Introduction) validation lead, developing, managing, and executing validation plans from requirements through final reporting.
- Coordinate Core Components validation demand and PMO execution by aligning program priorities, lab capacity, hardware availability, and global resources.
- Select and drive the best validation execution strategy using the global lab footprint to meet project timelines.
- Collaborate with design, simulation, product, and supplier teams to develop and execute validation plans for NSI, NPI, NTI, NTI-S, and CPI projects.
- Coordinate engine hardware, fixtures, instrumentation, and tooling readiness to support on-time validation execution.
- Execute structural and dynamics testing per standard test procedures and lab safety practices; analyze results and communicate risks and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related field, or equivalent engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of engine core components (valvetrain, rotating components, cylinder pack, cylinder head/block, and bolted joints).
- Knowledge of engine lab operations, test cell processes, component setup, hardware readiness, tooling requirements, and standard test procedures.
- Proficiency in structural durability/fatigue analysis, modal analysis, bolted joint analysis, torsional vibration testing, and engine dynamics validation.
- Experience with advanced instrumentation and data acquisition (strain gages, accelerometers, pressure sensors, speed/position sensors, telemetry, and signal conditioning).
- Ability to analyze complex test data, identify root causes, assess durability margins, and translate findings into clear design recommendations.
