Project Lead (Fintech)

TL;DR

Project Lead (Consumer Diligence): Leading TPR review engagements and performing loan-level credit review on non-QM consumer files with an accent on income, assets, and collateral analysis. Focus on translating client guidelines into operational reviews, managing SLAs, and optimizing AI-assisted underwriting platforms.

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX or Salt Lake City, UT (expectation of two days a week in office: Tuesdays and Thursdays)

What you will do

• Perform loan-level review on non-QM consumer files, covering complex income, assets, liabilities, and collateral/valuation.
• Make and defend exception decisions and identify systemic patterns in loan pools.
• Manage the end-to-end engagement process, translating client guidelines into reviews and delivering against SLAs.
• Serve as the primary client point of contact, communicating findings and resolving audit challenges.
• Coordinate with internal operations, product, and compliance teams to refine the AI-assisted platform.

Requirements

• 7+ years in residential mortgage credit with significant experience in TPR or loan-level due diligence.
• Recent hands-on experience in non-QM underwriting.
• Ability to make and defend complex exception decisions to clients or rating agencies.
• Working knowledge of consumer compliance, including high-cost tests and product-specific disclosure requirements.
• Must be based in or able to work from Austin, TX or Salt Lake City, UT.

Nice to have

• Experience with agency guidelines (Fannie, Freddie, Ginnie) and non-QM documentation.
• Familiarity with ComplianceEase or comparable compliance engines.
• Experience with agency and non-QM securitization.
