What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional IT team including Network, Systems, and DevOps specialists.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex incidents across networks, cloud platforms, and business-critical applications.
• Own the reliability, scalability, and lifecycle management of infrastructure, including AWS, Linux/Windows systems, and identity management.
• Drive DevOps practices, automation, and infrastructure as code to improve operational maturity.
• Lead IT security practices, including vulnerability remediation, patching, and system hardening.
• Develop and maintain the IT operations roadmap, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic investments.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from the Toronto office.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven success in a player-coach role combining people management with hands-on technical responsibility.
• Strong practical experience with network administration, Linux/Windows systems, and identity management.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and modern DevOps practices.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, AWS, or ITIL.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
• Experience in fast-paced startup or aerospace environments.
