Platform Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: US - Distributed; remote

Base salary: USD 105,000–185,000 per year

What you will do

• Implement, deploy, and maintain VM and Kubernetes infrastructure on GCP and AWS across development, staging, and production environments.
• Build and maintain Terraform modules and Spacelift workflows for networking, compute, storage, security, and multi-layer configuration management.
• Design and maintain observability with Grafana Cloud, Prometheus/Mimir, and OpenTelemetry collectors, including dashboards and alerting rules.
• Manage certificate lifecycles, DNS automation, ingress controllers, and service-mesh networking with Cilium.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Security on capacity planning, disaster recovery, and architecture decisions.
• Automate operational work, build CI/CD pipelines, use AI-assisted coding tools, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Go.
• Knowledge of network topologies and protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP/S, UDP, and TLS.
• Production Kubernetes expertise covering cluster administration, RBAC, networking, workload management, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with Terraform and infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Knowledge of GCP services including GKE, VPC networking, Cloud DNS, Artifact Registry, Secret Manager, IAM, Gemini Code Assist, and Workload Identity, plus practical use of LLM-based code-assist tools.

• Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools.
