Staff Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week onsite in the Culver City or San Francisco office

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, and operate production AWS infrastructure for high-availability broker-dealer and clearing workloads.
• Own Terraform-based infrastructure as code standards and lead the Kubernetes EKS platform strategy, including Helm governance, upgrades, GitOps, and autoscaling.
• Drive CI/CD, observability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and cloud cost optimization initiatives.
• Define AWS security, networking, encryption, secrets management, and compliance architecture for FINRA, SEC, SOC 2, and related requirements.
• Architect AI/ML infrastructure and lead adoption of AI-powered developer tools, intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation.
• Lead cross-functional infrastructure initiatives, author ADRs and technical documentation, mentor engineers, and advise engineering leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep production expertise in AWS.
• Expert Terraform skills, including module design, state management, and organization-wide IaC standards.
• Extensive production Kubernetes experience, preferably EKS, including cluster lifecycle management, multi-tenancy, Helm, and GitOps workflows.
• Strong Linux systems engineering, scripting with Python, Bash, or Go, and experience with CI/CD, cloud networking, security, databases, and observability platforms.
• Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery architectures, executing DR simulations, and operating mission-critical systems.
• Excellent technical communication, architectural decision-making, leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, financial services, broker-dealer environments, or regulated industries with FINRA and SEC requirements.
• AWS Professional or Specialty certification.
• Experience with Amazon MSK/Kafka, API gateways, policy-as-code, FinOps, or large-scale cloud cost optimization.
• Production experience with GPU infrastructure, SageMaker, Bedrock, vector databases, MLOps, AIOps, or AI developer-tool governance.
• Open-source contributions, conference talks, or published technical writing.
