What you will do

• Own end-to-end program management of the Vehicle/Hardware safety case, including planning, scoping, and scheduling.
• Define milestones, set Definitions of Done, and coordinate engineers producing hardware evidence.
• Drive evidence to sufficiency and manage the safety case workflow through to closure.
• Manage safety risks for unsatisfied claims using RISK tickets and maintain safety case health reports.
• Compile hardware inputs for release closure reports to support the Safety Review Board's decisions.
• Support internal and external safety case audits and mentor owners on process and tooling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical project management or functional safety within safety-critical domains (e.g., automotive, aerospace).
• Working knowledge of ISO 26262 (specifically Part 5) and safety case methods like GSN.
• Technical ability to evaluate hardware safety evidence, including FMEA, FMEDA, and reliability analyses.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and requirements traceability tools like Jama.
• Must be based in or able to work in Mountain View, CA for a hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days per week in office).

Nice to have

• Advanced technical degree or PMP certification.
• Familiarity with UL 4600 (autonomous systems safety) and ISO/SAE 21434 (cybersecurity).
• Hands-on experience with hardware safety analysis tooling and vehicle sensor/compute hardware.
• Experience managing external assessments (e.g., TÜV) and transitioning products to commercial deployment.
