What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal business using rating manuals and clinical expertise to drive P/L and sales targets.
• Collaborate with Sales, Underwriting, and Clinical teams to implement strategic pricing actions.
• Train and coach junior staff to expand consultative best practices throughout the department.
• Enhance underwriting guidelines, processes, and tools by incorporating market knowledge and best practices.
• Monitor block performance and develop strategies to align case-level results with financial targets.
• Act as a subject matter expert to support sales negotiations for new and existing clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Administration, or Computer Science (or 6 years of equivalent experience).
• 10-15 years of experience in Underwriting and the Insurance Industry.
• Must be located in Pennsylvania (Working at Home).
• Strong proficiency in risk management, analytical thinking, and conflict management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building and solution recommendation.

Nice to have

• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification.
• Health Insurance Associate (HIA) or Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP) designation.
• Society of Actuaries membership or certification.
