What you will do

• Evaluate employer group risk and determine appropriate pricing for level-funded plans.
• Collaborate with Sales to craft competitive proposals that maintain profitability.
• Analyze risk factors to make data-driven decisions balancing growth and risk tolerance.
• Design and refine underwriting guidelines, processes, and tools to support scaling.
• Partner with Product, Actuarial, and Customer Success teams to improve the end-to-end experience.
• Monitor underwriting outcomes and market dynamics to inform pricing strategies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of underwriting experience, ideally with small groups and/or level-funded products.
• Strong understanding of health insurance pricing, risk assessment, and underwriting guidelines.
• Experience working at an insurtech, carrier, or TPA focused on the small group market.
• Strong data analysis skills, particularly with Excel.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be based in the U.S.
