Professional Indemnity Underwriter (PI)

What you will do

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of professional indemnity risks, including new business, renewals, endorsements, and adjustments.
• Assess, evaluate, and price risks while making decisions to accept, decline, or refer submissions within defined underwriting authority.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients, generate submission flow, and identify new business, cross-sell, and up-sell opportunities.
• Provide timely quotes and manage the end-to-end renewal process.
• Monitor market trends, claims trends, legal developments, and emerging risks affecting professional indemnity insurance.
• Support strategic, profitable, and sustainable PI portfolio growth while promoting the hirify.global brand.

Requirements

• Experience in professional indemnity or financial lines underwriting and/or broking.
• Recognised knowledge of professional indemnity insurance products and strong local PI market knowledge.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to interpret complex risk information, financial data, and statistical analysis.
• Confident decision-making under pressure and with incomplete information, supported by commercial and financial judgment.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with brokers, clients, and colleagues.
• Awareness of claims trends and legal or regulatory developments relevant to professional liability.
