Workday Developer - People Tech (Workday)

Location: Denver, CO; New York, NY; or San Francisco, CA, United States. Hybrid employees based in office locations work from the office approximately 2–3 days per week; remote work may be approved from other locations in the United States.

Salary: $128,000–$160,000 per year in Denver and most remote locations; $154,000–$193,000 per year in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.

What you will do

• Lead configuration and enhancement of Workday modules, including Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, HCM, Talent, and Compensation.
• Architect Workday business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and security roles.
• Develop advanced, matrix, composite, and dashboard reports and maintain data quality across Workday and connected systems.
• Design test strategies, coordinate UAT, and lead regression and functional testing for biannual Workday releases.
• Diagnose complex Workday issues, develop scalable solutions, and maintain audit readiness through reporting, documentation, and controls.
• Advise cross-functional stakeholders, mentor team members, and guide adoption of Workday features and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of hands-on Workday analyst or configuration experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Workday security, business processes, reporting, and calculated fields.
• Ability to independently evaluate complex and ambiguous issues and determine appropriate methods and techniques.
• For office-based locations, availability to work from the office approximately 2–3 days per week is required.

Nice to have

• Workday certifications in Payroll, Absence, HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, or Reporting.
• Experience in HR, payroll, benefits, or related domains.
• Agile experience and a track record of developing policies and mentoring junior team members.
