Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters.

Total compensation: $164,000–$255,000 USD annually. Base salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Lead satellite engineering formulation for business development and new opportunity capture.
  • Develop and maintain vehicle performance budgets, system requirements, verification techniques, simulations, and analyses.
  • Lead the technical development of spacecraft missions, including test methods and data analysis.
  • Support program and product management activities.
  • Develop interface specifications, CONOPS, and other spacecraft design documents.
  • Work with customers and internal leadership to shape requirements and write core architectures for proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or another engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • For work in U.S. offices, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required ITAR authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in engineering.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, space environments, orbital mechanics, and rigid body dynamics.
  • Proposal and technical-volume authorship experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, STK, CAD, JAMA, or DOORS.
  • Satellite operations experience and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
