TL;DR
Assistant Program Manager/Fleet Operations Lead Integration Engineer (Nuclear Weapons Systems Integration): Leading the integration of warhead systems into aircraft and launch platforms while supporting Navy Strategic Systems Programs Re-Entry Systems Branch operations with an accent on systems analysis, interface management, and DoD certification compliance. Focus on resolving system-of-systems integration risks, coordinating cross-functional working groups, and translating complex engineering data into executive briefings and technical decisions.

Location: Washington, D.C.; must be local to the work location. Flexible for occasional telework. Active Top Secret clearance required.

Projected compensation range: $114,314.48–$198,770.70 annually.

What you will do

  • Support the Operational Systems Group Program Manager and oversee delegated high-priority engineering assessments.
  • Lead the physical and functional integration of warhead systems into aircraft and launch platforms.
  • Conduct system-level performance modeling, trade studies, and risk assessments across Navy facilities and launch platforms.
  • Coordinate technical synchronization across Project Officer Groups, SSP branches, government personnel, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, technical reports, weapon specifications, and interface control documentation.
  • Lead formal working groups and represent the Re-Entry Systems Branch in customer and stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of experience, master’s degree with 6–8 years, or PhD with 3–5 years in systems, electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent military service and nuclear-program expertise may substitute.
  • Active Top Secret clearance must be possessed and maintained.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and formal working groups with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable executive briefings.
  • Ability to manage multiple critical engineering tasks in a high-tempo, multi-agency environment.
  • Knowledge of nuclear weapon systems, submarine fleet operations, fleet CONOPS, and applicable government standards.

Nice to have

  • SSP, NNSA, Strategic Weapons Facility, or submarine experience leading nuclear weapon programs.
  • Experience with the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile–Nuclear program.
  • Expertise in the Phase 6.X nuclear weapons lifecycle and DoD 5000.02 acquisition process.
  • Systems integration experience resolving hardware and software interface issues in a system-of-systems environment.
