TL;DR
Systems Engineer III (Aerospace): Developing and sustaining aircraft systems and aerospace electronics products with an accent on requirements engineering, system architecture, safety analysis, and certification compliance. Focus on leading ARP4754 development activities, performing ARP4761 reliability and failure analyses, and validating and verifying systems against customer and regulatory requirements.

Location: Lynnwood, Washington, United States; onsite office and manufacturing environment. Occasional domestic and international travel of up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $124,600–$146,900 per year.

What you will do

  • Develop, modernize, upgrade, and sustain aerospace and electronics products while meeting performance, cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, schedule, and customer requirements.
  • Define product and process requirements, system architectures, component interfaces, validation approaches, and verification activities.
  • Lead system development activities using recognized aerospace processes such as ARP4754.
  • Develop system safety analyses, including reliability predictions, FMEA, fault tree analysis, common mode analysis, and single event upset analysis in accordance with ARP4761.
  • Support certification compliance for essential and critical aircraft control systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and business disciplines through IPT activities, technical documentation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • BA or BS degree in an engineering discipline; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Experience with system development processes such as ARP4754 and familiarity with DO178, DO254, and DO160.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, validation and verification, system architectures, and designs.
  • Familiarity with multiphysics modeling and simulation, including Simulink, circuit analysis, power supply topologies, and software development lifecycle processes.
  • Only US Persons will be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required under ITAR. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering discipline.
