Embedded Software Engineer (Radar)

Location: Seattle, WA, United States

Salary: $155K–$215K annually, plus equity

Develops safety-enhancing automated aviation systems, including radar technology for aircraft Detect and Avoid capabilities.

What you will do

• Develop C++ flight software requirements, designs, code, unit tests, and requirements-based test cases in accordance with DO-178C procedures.
• Develop Python-based software integration test cases.
• Build software for next-generation phased-array radar systems.
• Work on numerical optimization, networking, protocol drivers, memory interfaces, and software-to-FPGA interfaces.
• Develop an end-to-end embedded product spanning bare-metal software through the aircraft level.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing C or C++.
• 3+ years of experience translating and optimizing complex mathematical algorithms into performant, deterministic embedded code.
• Hands-on experience developing driver-level software for software-to-FPGA interfaces and managing high-bandwidth data pipelines.
• Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws and provide documentation establishing U.S. person or non-U.S. person status.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of professional experience developing C or C++.
• Experience with radar algorithms, radar signal processing, radar system integration, and testing.
• Experience in a DO-178 software development environment.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking.
• Experience with fast-paced agile or iterative development.
