Principal Data Engineer (Safety Analytics)

Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania, or Titusville, New Jersey, United States; remote work considered case by case

Salary: $102,000–$177,100 per year

What you will do

• Design and maintain production-grade data pipelines and curated datasets supporting pharmacovigilance, safety monitoring, analytics, and regulatory reporting.
• Own the safety analytics data lifecycle from source intake through transformation, storage, serving, and analytical consumption.
• Lead data architecture decisions on GCP, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
• Enable AI/ML and GenAI workflows such as feature engineering, feature stores, semantic retrieval, embeddings, and RAG.
• Build APIs and microservices for feature serving, retrieval services, analytics backends, and ML capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership while collaborating with safety scientists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, data scientists, IT, and platform partners.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with strong data architecture knowledge for analytics and machine learning.
• Experience with data contracts, validation, schema versioning, governance, lineage, observability, and compliant data lifecycle management.
• Experience designing APIs and microservices-based architectures, with a solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Work location is in the United States, with Horsham, PA or Titusville, NJ preferred; remote work is considered case by case.

Nice to have

• Production workload experience on Google Cloud Platform and GCP certification.
• Terraform infrastructure provisioning and Jenkins CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, or another regulated domain.
• Experience enabling AI/ML and GenAI workflows, including feature engineering, RAG, and semantic retrieval.
